Chiropractic

Chiropractic is the art and science of releasing the body’s natural healing ability by improving the efficiency of the nervous system. Chiropractors work on all the joints of the body, concentrating particularly on the spine.

Our Chiropractors Use:

  • Manual adjustments: manipulation and mobilisation techniques
  • Soft tissue work (massage, trigger point therapy, stretching etc)
  • Electrotherapy (ultrasound etc)
  • Cryotherapy (heat and ice treatments)
  • Manual adjustments
  • Exercise prescription and
  • Home advice

As part of their treatment. This treatment is safe, usually painless and effective and has minimal side effects. It helps to restore proper never function so the body is able to perform at its optimal level.

More Than Just ‘Back Doctors’

Doctors of Chiropractic are often perceived as “back doctors”. Although this perception is not entirely incorrect, it is very much incomplete. Doctors of chiropractic are a highly appropriate resource in matters of work-place safety, stress management, injury prevention, postural correction and nutritional counseling. Hence they also play an important role in preventative or wellness care. The initial examination takes 45 minutes and treatments thereafter take approximately 15 minutes.

Chiropractors use their hands to adjust the joints of your spine and other areas of the body where signs of restrictions in movement are found. This improves mobility and relieves pain. Poor, inadequate or incorrect function of the spine can cause irritation of the nerves that control your posture and movement. By adjusting joints, chiropractors stimulate the joint movement receptors affecting the way your nervous system works.

Chiropractic Treatment

Chiropractic care mainly involves treatment by manipulation to the joints of the spine or other areas of the body. Most often this involves a short impulse to the joint, resulting in an audible ‘crack’ as the joint is released, bringing relief of symptoms. The crack is simply the sound of bubbles of gas popping in the fluid of the joint as the pressure is released. This is known as an ‘adjustment.’ Generally, chiropractic treatment does not hurt although there may be some minor short-term discomfort, which quickly passes for most patients. You will find that ensuing treatments are easier as you start to find your symptoms are subsiding.

Our Specialities

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic is the art and science of releasing the body’s natural healing ability by improving the efficiency of the nervous system. Chiropractors work on all the joints of the body, concentrating particularly on the spine.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy involves initial evaluation to identify the source of discomfort or dysfunction. Once evaluated, we will develop a custom treatment program which includes manual therapy and various in-home exercises.

Sport Massage

Sports massage works by physically breaking down adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement. To do this, the massage therapist often uses direct deep pressure applied across the grain of the muscles.

Sport Rehabilitation

Utilizing a combination of unique protocols, we will progressively help you to regain motor and neuromuscular control, improve your mind-body coordination, increase range of motion and get you stronger more flexible.

Orthotic Therapy

Your feet are the foundation for the normal balance and alignment of your body. Even the smallest structural problems in the feet can alter the way that you walk and cause many different problems.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment for localized musculoskeletal pain or tendon injuries. It is a relatively new treatment, proven to be highly effective – initially it was mainly used for sports injuries.
